Programme Management Internship

(July - September 2010; voluntary)We are looking for an intern to support the team in managing the School's Summer Short-course Programme. The Summer Programme runs from July to September, is open to the public, and consists of a series of one-week courses teaching the traditional arts, including calligraphy, woodwork, painting and stained glass. The intern will help coordinate the administrative and logistic arrangements of the programme, including student liaison, course bookings, registers, collating materials, room setup and course evaluation.
In return, you will gain experience of managing an arts education programme, build on your administrative skills, and have the opportunity observe/ take part in some of the courses as part of the course evaluation process.
The ideal candidate will be a well-organised person who is able to prioritise their workload. You must have good communication and interpersonal skills, and have the confidence to work both independently and as part of a small team. You will be proactive, resourceful, and computer literate (confident in at least Outlook and Excel). An interest in and knowledge of the arts is desirable.

We are ideally looking for someone who is available 2 days/ week, for 3 months. This is a voluntary (unpaid) position, although lunch and reasonable travel will be reimbursed. The internship will be based in our office in Shoreditch (19-22 Charlotte Road, London, EC2A 3SG).
