Icon Painting

Students will be taught the rudiments of the egg tempera on gesso technique. Participants will be taken through the steps of icon painting in the Byzantine style, from panel preparation to the gradual application of thin layers of 'light', with the aim of completing an icon by the end of the course.

 

Students will need to bring their own brushes for this course.
