Sacred Art of the Silk Road: Dunhuang’s Buddhist Cave Temples

Dunhuang’s cave temples reveal early influences at work on Chinese Buddhist art. Creative and devotional effort for more than 1000 years have conveyed deeply spiritual Buddhist teachings in amazing visual narratives.

Our special exhibition features replica paintings and sculptures from the Mogao and Yulin caves in the Dunhuang region.

An exact, hand-painted replica of Mogao Cave 3 will be the centre-piece, giving visitors a rare opportunity to experience its beauty.
