Do you offer concessions?

We are unable to offer concessions for this course.

Who is this programme for?

Some knowledge of geometry will be useful, but all are welcome to attend.

Accommodation  (2 per room) at the Tamar Manoukian Outdoor Residential Centre. Three meals: Breakfast, lunch and dinner prepared by Dumfries House staff.

Option B Participation fee and all course materials No accommodation Two meals: Lunch and dinner prepared by Dumfries House staff. Participants need to book their own local accommodation in Cumnock or Ayrshire and find their way to the venue each morning. £550

Can you tell me more about what is provided at the Residential Centre?

When should I check in and out of the Residential Centre?

Check-in Wednesday 14th August, 3 pm - 8 pm.

Check-out Tuesday 20th August, by 9 am. You are welcome to use the main area of the bunk house until 1 pm.

Please do let us know if you will be arriving late and/or departing early. 

Can you cater to my specific dietary needs?

Please do notify us if you have any specific dietary needs . The catering staff at Dumfries House will tailor the meals dependent on everyone's requirements.

How many people will be in each room?

There will be up to two people per room.

What is the best way to get to Dumfries House?

Arriving by Plane

If arriving by plane, you can opt to journey on to Dumfries House via a combination of trains, buses and taxis. There is a direct bus service between Glasgow Airport and Glasgow Central train station; The collection stand at the airport is at Stand 4, St Vincent Street . From Glasgow Central Station you should proceed to the town of Auchinleck (please see below).

You can also take a taxi directly to Dumfries House. A car takes about an hour from Glasgow Airport and costs approximately £55. Dumfries House uses a car service called Scottish Transfers

Arriving by Train

The nearest train station to Dumfries House is Auchinleck Station. If coming from London, opt for a train that goes via Carlisle. If coming from Glasgow, there are direct trains from Glasgow Central Station to Auchinleck.

As a note to non-UK visitors, National Rail may direct you to the website of a train operator to book your ticket. 

Arriving by Car

Limited parking space is available at the Tamar Manoukian Outdoor Centre on the estate. Please do let us know in advance if you plan on driving, and provide us with your vehicle registration number.

Taxi

Once you arrive in Auchinleck, it is best to use the local taxi company, Cumnock Taxis, which will be no more than £10 (probably closer to £6 depending on the day and time). Cumnock Taxis, Tel: 01290 421010. It is advised to book in advance for early mornings and Sundays.
