Further Explorations of Celtic Pattern

For students who have completed Celtic Pattern: Geometry and Imagination course and wish to continue their studies in Celtic art, this course explores further the possibilities of Celtic knotwork, key patterns and spiral forms.
Students will learn how to manipulate and combine grids. How to fuse knots, key patterns and spiral forms together. We will study complex geometrical proportion in manuscript page designs, and the compass constructed spiral and animal forms of pre-Christian Britain and Ireland. All this and much more.
Adam Tetlow is an artist, writer and teacher. He graduated from the School's MA programme in 2003. He is the author of Celtic Pattern - Visual Rhythms of the Ancient Mind, co-author of Sacred Number, and contributor to Quadrivium (Wooden Books 2010).
