Calligraphy: Drawn and painted lettering

This course will cover drawing letters, and painting some drawn letters in a short inscription with a pointed brush and gouache. Participants can choose one of the following three lettering styles for the two days: classical Roman capitals, modernised capitals or lower case italic.
Drawn lettering is beautiful and can be applied to many materials and for many uses - painting inscriptions on paper, cloth and wood; engraving glass and ceramics; and carving in stone and wood.
Who is this course for?
This course is suitable for calligraphers and letterers of all levels - beginners to advanced.
What should I bring?
Students are asked to bring their own brushes. You will need pointed brushes (nylon or natural hair) in sizes 1 and 3. You can bring others if you have them.
All other materials will be provided.
