Drawing for Icon Painters

Drawing is a core skill in any art form, but for icon painters it is essential. This course aims to help to understand the geometry, proportions and anatomy of the human body that is underneath the vestments.
Practice drawing the different parts of the human body, including male or female faces, hands and feet, the old and the young, and the garments and folds of various vestments.
What should I bring?
All materials will be provided.
Who is this course for?
This course is suitable for anybody who is interested in icon painting and who is interested in improving their drawing and painting skills.
What day(s) do I attend?
This course will take place over 4 consecutive Saturdays.
Hanna Ward is a diploma iconographer. She has an MA in Traditional Arts from the School and has completed a four year Diploma Icon and Wall Painting course with Aidan Hart. Hanna has also studied for many years with various masters from Russia, Greece, France, Romania, UK and Finland. Hanna regularly paints commission pieces for churches and private collectors. She also lectures and teaches in the UK and in Finland and is a visiting tutor at the Icon School of Bethlehem in Palestine.
