Have you ever been intrigued by a beautiful wood carving and wondered what it would be like to make one yourself? Now's your chance to learn all about the specialist tools and techniques involved in woodcarving, from how to sharpen the various chisels and knives to identifying the different woods available, as well as planning and undertaking sculptural or ornamental carving. We will also take a look at surface finishes and power tools.
At the end of the course, everyone will have a least one finished carving to take home with them.

What should I bring?
Please wear comfortable clothes and closed toe shoes. All materials will be provided on this course.
Health and Safety
Follow instructions from your tutor precisely; never touch equipment or tools unless you are instructed to do so with the tutor
Wear any personal protective equipment supplied by your tutor, such as safety goggles and dust-masks.
Keep your work area tidy and the floor areas clear
Students are absolutely not allowed in the studio before or after the course hours
